Rice Grits named winner of Made in the South Awards’ Food category
Every year, the prestigious magazine Garden & Gun hosts the Made in the South Awards. These awards celebrate Southern craftsmanship by recognizing the best Southern-made products in six categories—food, drink, outdoors, crafts, style and home.
Our Rice Grits took home the top award in the Food category, which was judged by Food Network star Alton Brown, at a ceremony held Friday, Nov. 11 at Palmetto Bluffs in Bluffton, South Carolina! Our Rice Grits sit atop three impressive runners up including, French Broad Chocolates’ malted milk chocolate bars; Pogue Mahone Pickles’ dill pickle mustard; and Blackberry Farm’s sheep’s milk cheese.
Be sure to pick up the December 2016/January 2017 issue of Garden & Gun to read all about the winners, including Delta Blues Rice! For a sneak peek, and a full list of winners in each category, click here.
We are over the moon about this award and couldn’t have done it without the support of so many of our rice – and grits – fans! Thank you for allowing us to carry on our family’s legacy and provide you with a unique twist on a Southern favorite—grits.
